Cardiff East Park and Ride data centre campus (Curtis Hall), Llanrumney

Cardiff, WalesPlanning submitted

Curtis Hall Ltd, the site owner, has applied to Cardiff Council for three data centres, an on-site substation and energy facilities on the 40-acre Cardiff East Park and Ride site in Llanrumney (hybrid application 26/00109/HYB). A 150MW grid connection is reported for full build-out but may not be available until between 2030 and 2034, so the developer proposes a temporary gas-fired energy centre of up to about 49.9MW, modelled to run from 2028 to 2033. In September 2026 the Welsh Government issued a holding direction, so Cardiff Council cannot grant permission while ministers consider calling it in.
