SDC M40 Campus, Wapseys Wood landfill, Gerrards Cross
Slough Holdings UK Limited, owned by funds managed by SDC Capital Partners, proposes a data centre campus of up to three buildings with an IT load of up to about 300MW on the Wapseys Wood landfill site between Gerrards Cross and Beaconsfield. An on-site gas-fired energy centre of about 250 to 350MW would power the campus, at least at first. Veolia owns the energy centre land and is the energy partner. The Secretary of State directed on 16 March 2026 that the scheme be treated as a nationally significant infrastructure project. The Planning Inspectorate published a scoping opinion on 9 June 2026 and expects the application in January 2027.
